| Sweater: Dorothy Perkins/Top: Forever 21/Jeans: Gap/Boots: Dillard's/ Necklace: INPink/ Purse: Gift from Paris |
During this month of no shopping I have really dug into my closet and found pieces that I struggle with styling or just plain flat don't really wear that much. This elbow patch sweater is from a order last year with Dorothy Perkins and I never wear it because I have a hard time making it seem new and exciting every time I wear it. The cold actually forced me to layer and I am pretty happy with the result.
This whole month while not shopping, I have realized just how much I think about shopping. I think about when I have time to shop, where I can shop to save money (ironic), etc. During that time that I normally spend as a "break" from school and do some recreational shopping I have put towards personal projects or just resting. I am so glad that I decided to do this early on in the semester, taking a step back has been so good for me.
The challenge is over in a few days (Yay! Spring clothes!) and I'll have a few more reflections but if you ever feel like you aren't being as productive or need to step back; I really encourage you to take a no shopping challenge. You will be more appreciative of what you have and really be more productive.

I can't believe you are almost done with your month of no shopping. I'm so impressed! Love your casual outfit. And your bag is so cute!

shopping has just sort of become my weekend activity. If I didn't go shopping, I would do... what?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how you let a cute white cable sweater become an ignored piece in your closet - but I suppose if your average winter day is in the 70's that makes sense. If it were 73 right now I'd be running around barelegged in a little dress with a light jacket. Or maybe even that sweater over a tulle skirt.

Love your weekend look.

Such adorable layering, and I LOVE your boots!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I just love elbow patches! Although I don't own any pieces myself. I've been on a semi no spending money on clothes freeze this month...haha. That doesn't mean I don't go out "shopping", I just try not to buy anything which is torture! I don't know why I'm doing that to myself....
