Crazy story behind this dress. This year, on New Year's Day, I tried on this dress at Dillard's. I was in love with it. It was half price and I knew I had to have it. The ruffled sleeves were just SO impractical that I knew they were perfect for me. I tried it on, the only size in the store. Wouldn't even go over my hips. I was so sad. It had RUFFLES AND POCKETS!
Then...... 5 months later I was at Goodwill in Lawrence. I was browsing the dress section when, I FOUND THE PERFECT SIZE OF THE DRESS! Clearly the person who purchased it didn't like it and basically instantly donated it! Not only was it the perfect size, it was unworn! I was ecstatic! I called my mother who did an excellent job of faking excitement for a dress I knew she hated. I really do appreciate that mom, I know you get how excited I was, even if you weren't sold on the ruffles.
Dress: Goodwill in Lawrence
Shoes: C/O Plato's Closet
Earrings: Kate Spade
The downsides to this dress? The sleeves make me feel like I need to be at a tango festival. It wrinkles if you breathe near it and trying to find earrings to compliment the ruffles is just impossible. I also feel like I have the world's largest shoulders while wearing it but I mean, it's still fun.
The upside? I GOT IT FOR $6 instead of $70 so you know, that kind of completely rocks. Maybe I should google Kansas City tango festival, I think that is the only place I am not going to get weird looks when I wear it.
