Brunching Florals

On Saturday I woke up, got dressed and headed to downtown Kansas City for brunch. (AKA: An excuse to see some of my favorite Kansas City ladies.) What was the problem? The problem with brunch is that I want breakfast before I eat brunch. I woke up at 7:30 and by 9 am I was like, “So……I wonder if I could get a small doughnut to hold me over?” Hence completely ruining the entire concept of brunch. If you are one of those people who can somehow combine two meals into one and only eat that ONE meal, you are a patron saint and I will bow down to you. You are a blessed one and I aspire to be as great of a person as you are.

Anyway, I managed to make it to brunch without pre-gaming it. I arrived, ordered a peach bellini and immediately ordered drunken doughnuts. Fresh, beautiful, doughnut holes that are covered in powdered sugar and have a alcoholic chocolate sauce? SIGN ME UP! Then I had my first ever chicken and waffle combination and that waffle may have changed my life. Who knew that savory waffles could be a thing and be a delicious thing?
