I did not like the cut out trend when I first saw it. There I said it. I grew up in a house where I couldn’t wear spaghetti straps or shorts that didn’t cover at least half of my thigh. When I went out on my own I decided to slowly start trying things I hadn’t tried before. I found that a year after the cut out trend really took off I finally liked it on myself. I learned that for women with hips it’s important to find a cut that doesn’t sit right on the hips. Why? Uh….you know that roll you feel between your waist and hips sometimes? Cutouts are like a frame for that. No one wants a frame for their fat.

The really great thing about cut outs though is that I think it’s the perfect mix of girly and edgy. I loved the fact that the material was such a subtle floral print but also had great texture with the cutouts without having too much happening. Oh also, I’ve learned that cut outs can make you look like a hoochy momma pretty fast. Definitely want to avoid that look. Unless you want to look like that. Ok, I’ll just shut up about that before I get into trouble.
Anyway, the point of this is that cutouts are a great way to look daring, get down with your bad self and be a daring darling in your cut out dress. The end.
