Officially Class of 2014!

This weekend was amazing. It pretty much took four years to lead up to it but it was worth it. On Saturday I graduated from the William Allen White School of of Journalism and Mass Communications at KU. On Sunday I walked under the campanile with thousands of other KU students and it became official. I am a college graduate. No more finals. No more worrying about emails from professors at night. I am done with college. One of the best parts about the weekend was that I didn’t fall on stage when my name was called. I think that was actually one of my biggest concerns. Not that I wouldn’t graduate, but that I would fall. Go figure.

I wore this dress to the ceremony on Saturday. My journalism graduation was at 8:30 am  in Lawrence. I didn’t sleep very much the night before the ceremony as I was replaying every possibly scenario that could happen. I flunked all my classes somehow. I fall on my face walking across stage. I forget to put on clothes. However, none of that happened and I giddily walked across the stage after my name was called. I don’t know why but I was nervous. so nervous. I didn’t think it was real.

It’s still a little strange to not be super paranoid about homework assignments. I still feel like I need to check my KU email obsessively. In fact I think it may be August before it really hits because then my mind will realize I don’t have to go back to school. Right now I’m just so happy to be done and will enjoy the next few more laid back weeks!
