Stay With Me

If you want to get into a super sentimental mood in which you feel all of the feels, I suggest you listen to Sam Smith’s single “Stay With Me.” This song immediately grabbed me when I first heard it on the radio. The beat was decidedly slower than any pop song and it had lyrics that immediately spoke to me. I am such a connoisseur of pop music that sometimes I forget there are actually different variations of beats than the basic five that are all played in the hot summer songs that make me dance. Anyway, I mention all of this because I had to say goodbye to a great friend the other day and the entire trip home all of the radio stations played a cruel game of playing every song ever that made me feel all of the feels. Specifically, Stay With Me, and I was a puddle of emotions. THANKS TOP 40 RADIO!

So you know, thanks pop music for actually having a great ballad once in a while but I don’t need to feel like my heart is being torn out while riding in the car trying to keep it all together. I had just gotten to the point that “All of Me” was finally getting on my nerves and not the emotional ballad that every girl wants written about them and then you play “All of Me” AND “Stay with Me” back to back. Sigh.
