Here’s the thing about me and travel outfits.I never like the ones I wear. I’ve learned this after multiple flights and wearing everything from jeweled sweaters that set off security, basketball shorts and KU t-shirts to everything in-between. So the day before I went to NYC I ran into Nordstrom to get a grande Mocha Chip Ice Storm with two extra shots and walked by the sale rack. I saw this black dress with the contrasting front panel and grabbed it. I tried it on. I considered just taking off the tag and paying for it while wearing it. It was that comfortable.
It’s a good thing I got it because we got into NYC, went to the hotel, dropped our bags and went into the city for the rest of the day and late night. We went to Chelsea, walked the High Line, saw some musicians that had been photographed by Humans of New York (side note: check the page out, your life won’t be the same.) and watched incredibly sweet weddings happen. Plus the weather was perfect, a slight breeze that also reminded me why New York has a reputation for smelling like a trash can. It felt like it was out of a Tina Fey movie which really is one of the highest compliments I could ever give.
