When Life Isn’t So Adored

What do you do when you name your blog The Adored Life and then you go through a time when you realize life isn’t always that grand and sometimes you don’t adore it? I’ve wrestled with this question since I last posted on September 8th. There’s been radio silence on this blog for a while. There’s been eerie silence everywhere in my life. For those of you who have reached out to me, thank you. I’ve started replying to your emails, tweets, messages, everything but simply not known what to say. There have been a lot of changes in my life, especially the last six months. Not all of them have been positive. A great many have been positive. The past month has seen both an incredible amount of good and bad. I’ve had days where I don’t smile at all and wonder how I could ever share the bad times with you.

At some point I will be able to share with you some of the bad and the good. The truth is that life right now is a lot of unknowns. I’ve talked before about how life after graduation can be a little overwhelming due to the amount of possibilities you have before you. Your life is a blank slate and there isn’t a guidebook that tells you what your life will be like if you go down a certain road, say goodbye to something that have been in your life for years. You really don’t know. You make some mistakes. You laugh a little. You cry a lot. You wonder. You reevaluate what is truly important to you. You find out who you are, even that is who you are just for the moment.

But most of all, you learn that you aren’t alone. Complete strangers on the internet reach out to you at just the right moment. You see a message from a friend. You read something in a book. You realize that life/blogging isn’t perfect, it’s not always adored. But it’s part of life and makes you appreciate the good when it comes again.
