Yes, yes, I know most people are halfway drunk at games but so many departments at KU have tailgating events that showing up, putting some effort into your outfit and introducing yourself to some professionals is a wonderful way to meet new people. Networking is constantly only mind this year. I cannot tell you how many times my professors have told us how important this is. Always have your contact information. Always be prepared, always be on your game. Sure, you can still have fun at games but if you put in some thought and energy into a good outfit and introduce yourselves. Trust me, people do notice you if you are in a crowd of thousands of people but you show some initiative!
Our football team record is now 1-1. Quite frankly that is actually extremely positive. (Sorry athletics people. Not that you are reading this blog.) Despite our record I go to the games. Why? They are fun. There’s nothing quite like buying $10 hot dog. It’s fall and this is the only season that I am wiling to be outside all day, BUT most of all.. the networking you can do at a football game is insane.
