You Matter. You Matter.

I had a very different post planned for today but I’m tabling that. I’ve been very open on social, especially Twitter, about mental health. I will not stop being an advocate ever for getting help. This is not about not being enough or being able to handle it all. We all have struggles. There is not a single one of us that would not benefit from talking to a professional who can help guide you. Regardless of what your situation is, it is not a weakness to reach out. Knowing you need help is incredible strength and self-awareness.

A few weeks ago I found out a 20 year old relative of mine committed suicide. 20 years old. I have a niece and nephew that are 19 and 21. Everything stopped when I heard the news. I don’t want to misrepresent anything and make it appear we were close. We weren’t, not for bad reasons, but regardless, their life mattered. 20 years old. 80 years old. 9 years old. You matter.

If you’re reading this, you matter.

You matter.

You matter.

You matter.

The national suicide prevention hotline is 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) and also has an online chat here. There is someone there 24/7 to talk to you. There are also many local resources in your area that are there for support. Your life matters and there are so many people who care.

You can also find many resources from this and this that are confidential.

I don’t know how to end a post like this. I don’t want to muddy this with any cutesy story or anything that takes away from the severity of this. If you are struggling, please reach out.
